ClearFuels and Rentech Announce $23 Million Grant from DOE for Biomass Gasifier
Tradingmarkets.com announced that ClearFuels and Rentech’s Energy Technology Center in Denver has been awarded a condition $23 million grant from the DOE to construct a biomass gasifier. The plant is designed to produce synthesis gas from various wood waste and sugar cane bagasse feedstocks.
The conditional award follows the DOE’s selection of the project in December 2009 to receive funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Stimulus) to validate refining technologies and help lay the foundation for full commercial-scale development of a biofuels industry in the U.S.
